Opinion:


This book is a godsend for intermediate students. It features authentic texts from Arabic newspapers in clear font, translations into English in the back and a friendly, cheery ending. I only wish it had been available when I started reading Arabic newspapers. It can save you a year or two of painful dictionary work if you read through it carefully.


Big minus -- the texts are all from the late 1980s and early 1990s. Some are funny, but some are deadly boring. Surely this is a matter of taste, but still...
